Week 0 - Forgot my LUNCH!
Updated: Aug 26
Welcome to my first official weekly blog!
I thought this would be a fun way to show behind the scenes of my life while trying to juggle fitness, food, kids, washing piles and whatever else gets thrown at me each week.
So here’s Week 0 of my STRIP phase 🤝
I get up at 4:15am every single day. Depending how long I doom scroll for, I’m usually out in the garage gym or up the mountain by 5am after a redbull (it’s my vice, and its sugar free leave me be).
Canberra has been FREEZING lately! 🫠 This week I walked up Mount Taylor 4 times ft my bumbag and trained 4 times! I find the mountain really hard, and on Thursday I was doing really well until a lady double my age strolled past me like it was NOTHING! Go her... I did challenge her to an arm wrestle at the top and won so we are even now!

At the moment my Instagram algorithm is all Apex movie memes with the Chemical Brothers song and they are absolutely sending me. So naturally I spend my mornings sending them to my friends while they sleep. Hopefully their phones are on do not disturb!!! Soz not Soz..

Once I finally stop scrolling and wander outside, I warm up pretty quickly. I always do pre-activation and a proper warm up before training and honestly it makes such a difference mentally and physically.

I also got new gym shoes this week (refer to cute pic above of me warming up) and I’m obsessed. I LOVE a flat shoe for lifting. It just makes me feel stronger 😂
This week I launched my ‘Train Like Casey’ program too which is exciting because now my clients can train alongside me while I suffer through this strip phase!

After my workout it’s straight into Mum mode. Lunches for the kids, breakfast for all of us, getting everyone dressed, bags packed, teeth brushed, shoes found, kids out the door and off to drop offs before work 😅

Oh and then there’s the clean up afterwards too because somehow making breakfast for children looks like a small tornado went through the kitchen.
The washing piles in this house also continued as usual. The pic is literally like two days worth. I’m writing this blog before folding it all and in the meantime, I’ve continued adding to the pile as more loads finished. Incredible system really.😂

On Wednesday I had one of those classic meal prep fail moments. I had prepped the BEST meals, tracked everything perfectly and packed my day because I was going to be out all day.
Then I left it all sitting on the bench at home 🫠
To make it worse, I’d decided it would be smart to just take the whole yoghurt tub and cottage cheese container with me and weigh servings out as I needed them. Since they sat out too long I had to chuck them😭

Thank the stars for local grocery stores honestly. I stood there for ages scanning macros on random healthy meals and snacks trying to make it fit my calories and protein for the day. Ended up grabbing a couple healthy choices and some fruit and honestly… problem solved.
We also had our weekly FWTLO team meeting this week. I took a sneaky photo without warning so enjoy that 😂 hi boys.

Kids sports were in full swing with trainings on Tuesday and Thursday and games on Saturday and Sunday with soccer and NRL. Both kids absolutely kicked ass as usual. Someone also doodled on the soccer art and honestly I laughed every time I looked at it.

The weekends are so wholesome though, Saturday post sport was super chill and Sunday we had family lunch with the five of us at one of our favourite restaurants. I forgot my food scales and Jason informed me he would’ve hidden under the table if I whipped them out anyway 😭 so I took photos of the meals and used ChatGPT to help estimate the macros instead.

Then Sunday evening before our Support Call we hosted my Mum and her partner for dinner for her partners birthday where they tortured me with the smell of Chinese food while I sat there eating my homemade protein pizza 😂 honestly though… the pizza slapped.

I baked cupcakes to celebrate, I slightly fucked a few of them up but the gold sprinkles will hide it!

And no… I did not eat one because I simply did not have the calories wah!

I put together a great gift basket, I reckon I'm a good gift giver personally...!
I also got my nails done this week which is one of my non negotiables. I’ve gone to the same nail lady for 7 years now and once a month I sit there quietly reading my Kindle while getting infills done. Elite self care honestly 🤍I’m reading some raunchy cowboy series (IYKYK).

Anyway, here’s my official Week 0 STRIP check in:
Week: 0
Nutrition Adherence: 7/7
Weekly Average Steps: 10,372
Training: 4/4 + 4 cardio
Average Body Weight Change: - 0.600kg
The things I’m most proud of this week are:
- Keeping consistency with my eating, training and cardio.
- Not eating kid’s leftovers like a starved pig.
- Taking my before photos and realising I’d already made progress before officially starting this phase.
- Backing myself and committing fully to documenting this journey honestly.
The areas I need to improve next week are:
- Fold the washing before it becomes part of the home décor.
- Stop doom scrolling before gym.
- Drink more water because caffeine apparently doesn’t count.
- Be slightly more organised when I leave the house all day 😭.
For this phase I’m eating 1200 calories and 125g protein. FYI I’m only 155cm tall (good things come in small packages), and I’ve spent a long time figuring out what works best for MY body. I’ve got around 12kg to lose and honestly, I’m really excited to properly document this phase from the beginning.
I took my official before photos this week too and compared them to photos from a few months ago. Even before officially starting, I’d already made progress which honestly fired me up so much more.
That’s all from me this week 🤍
See you next Sunday for more organised chaos, caffeine and cardio. Ps... Is anyone else following the Katie Price drama???? Asking for a friend...
