Week 13 - Lucky Number 13
Monday was my office day!! Here is me looking all smart and that!

While on my lunch break I ordered myself a vision board.
Do you have a vision board?
I used to have one years ago and I actually ticked everything off, so I think it’s time for a new one.
The bigger question is, where do I put it?
Jason sent me this really cute pic of Arlo! It was their day together!

Monday night we had the BEST support call with our clients! This is where any of them can jump on zoom and ask us any questions they want!
Tuesday was busy with blood tests to find out my medication tolerance through Everlab.
This one takes a few weeks to come back, so I’m really excited to see what it says.
It was such a busy day with work and lots of amazing check-ins.
I trained my ass off at lunchtime too.
I increased every weight on every exercise and fuck, it felt good.
I’ll let you in on a secret.
You want to chase personal bests in the workouts in Everfit at the end.
Not animals.
Shhhh.
After gym, it was back to work, and while I was working, I ate my last prepped mince and sweet potato meal, which was good timing because Wednesday is grocery day, so I needed to get organised for the next round of meal prep.
Soccer training was cancelled again, so mountain cardio for me.

Dinner was leftovers. On Sunday, Jason had made roast chicken fried rice and veg, so there was plenty for the kids, and I had my own food.
I did sneak four mouthfuls of his fried rice though.
It was so, so good.
Wednesday was DEXA scan day.
That was confronting, but my bone health is pretty good and my body fat was spot on with what Keiran assessed me at, which was actually really good to know.

It was also team meeting day, support call day, and then a relaxed afternoon before another Mount Taylor walk.
This time I tried to read my Kindle while walking, but it only lasted about half the walk before it felt weird not looking at the beautiful surroundings.

Nature won.
Thursday after I dropped the kids off, I went off to work and had lots of meetings.
I did lunchtime meal prep while I was actually in a meeting that I was just listening to. I posted in the Skool community what I was cooking for the next bunch of meal prep, and it only took me about 20 minutes, which was great.

I’ll keep sharing more ideas as I go.
Then it was leg day.

I took a nice little breather outside between sets and discovered that we are really behind on our weeding.

Oops.
After that, I logged back onto work and used the walking pad.
And I have decided I don’t like the walking pad.
I don’t like it at all.
I don’t know if it’s because it’s boring and I much prefer being outside in nature, but I lasted seven minutes before getting off.
Maybe it’s just not for me.
It was raining that day though, so I’ll have to either walk around the house or force myself to use it when I really need to.
Is anyone else the same? I just don’t want to do something I’m going to dread.
That afternoon, the boys practiced footy at home before the last footy training session.

They then went and enjoyed pizza and games, and I got Nola sushi.

Arlo tried some sushi and hated it.
The seafood was not going down well.
Friday we had a really great support call.
I actually really enjoy the 5am calls. I get up at 4am regularly again for work or whatever it may be, so getting to see some new faces is pretty amazing.
We had a few silent achievers join too, and it was just a really great call.
After the support call, I got ready for work, but first I pulled out some of my summer gym outfits that I know I took photos in at the start of this.
The progress was insane.
I couldn’t believe it.

Then I was off to work for most of the day until mid-afternoon, when we went and surprised Rocky at school.
We got a little secret email from his teacher saying that he was receiving an award, so we always try to make it to those things if we can.

Then I went back home and logged on to finish my day.
After that it was time to get ready to go out for dinner with my friends.

I pre-tracked Canberra Dumpling House and planned to get Shanghai cooked dumplings in water. It came to about 450 calories and 21g protein from memory.
I did end up going over my calories by about 200, but I was pretty hungry that day. My nutrition had been really great for the week, so while I knew it meant I wouldn’t have perfect adherence, I wasn’t super upset about it.
I had chilli oil instead of soy sauce on top too.
So good.
At dinner I ended up having four out of six of the Shanghai dumplings, maybe four normal dumplings, two mouthfuls of chicken and basil noodles, and a Coke Zero.
I was so nervous to weigh myself Saturday morning.
Well, I dropped 250g.

How?
I honestly think it was the expenditure I had added. Sometimes it takes a few days to reflect.
Just before I started this STRIP, I went and got an InBody scan done. One of the local supplement stores has one, and it shows a rough estimate of muscle, fat, weight and all those fun things.
They are not 100% accurate, but they are useful for tracking trends.
I told myself when I hit a 10kg loss, I would go back.
And that was today.

The cool thing is, it shows your previous scan data at the bottom so you can compare. I also have my first scan on my vision board too. There’s a matrix on the back showing the best outcome in terms of muscle, so my goal was to change my C to a D.
So off I went.
I was a little bit intimidated because three really fit athletes walked in before me to get scans too.
And when I say fit, I mean shredded.
Six packs and everything.
I was sitting in my car watching them walk in and had a little moment, but then I worked up the courage and reminded myself that they do not care.
I am no one.
So I walked in and lined up behind them.
They all got their scans, and I could hear them joking around and being upset that they had put on weight and having a little competition with each other about their visceral fat score.
Then it was my turn.
And oh my god, I was so pleased.
I had lost 10.1kg since my last scan.
My visceral fat score had gone down from 16 to 12, and everything was trending really well.
I’m still a C in terms of fat versus muscle, but that’s okay.
I’m on the right track.

I actually also had a scan from the same place back in 2020, which you can see on there.
I weighed a little bit more then. That was either just before I started with Wes, or maybe just after I had started my journey. I’m not too sure, but clearly I didn’t go back for another six years.
Classic.
After that, it was soccer for Nola, which I took her to, and then I dropped her off to watch a footy final game with some friends.

I then went and met my friend Lucy at her house she is selling. She needed to get rid of a bunch of rubbish and furniture from her tenants, so she hired a ute and we did a couple of trips to the tip.
She was very grateful that I came and helped.
So this is super random, but for ages I have been trying to find a scone cutter.
I looked everywhere.
Jason even looked everywhere to surprise me with a little gift, but we could never find one like the old-school Tupperware ones.
So because I’ve never found one, I’ve just been using the lid from my olive oil spray.
Very resourceful.
Anyway, when Lucy bought the house she’s now selling, it was actually a deceased estate and it came with everything in it.
While we were chucking things out, we found a couple of really cool things.
One was a bag full of old letters between what I assume were family members. The letters had little photos in them and were dated 1991, which is the year I was born.
This beautiful lady was writing to someone and telling them about the Gulf War and everything happening in the world at the time. It actually brought tears to my eyes because she was also talking about getting older and how things were getting harder.
I just thought, wow. This was 35 years ago. She’s probably not around anymore, but she had included these beautiful photos of her family travelling the world.
It felt too special to just throw away.
The second really cool thing I found was an old-school scone cutter.

The person who lived in this house must have been there for a really long time because they had some amazing vintage things. I told Lucy she had to take them to the resource management centre for them to sell because they were way too cool to go to the tip.
Anyway, I got to keep the scone cutter.
Best day of my life.
After that, I quickly raced home, had a shower, got changed and took another friend out for her birthday to a grazing workshop.
It was so much fun.
We had one little cocktail and then made a grazing box to take home.

The funniest part was that the workshop was held at a female sex shop, so we had dildos and vibrators all around us while making our grazing boxes.

Honestly, what a venue.

Then I took the grazing box home, and even though Arlo was already asleep, the older kids were still awake. It was early, around 7:30pm, so we all enjoyed the grazing box together.

I definitely did not adhere that night, but I tell you what, I felt like it was well deserved.
It felt like a little reward for my 10.1kg loss.
And I knew I was going to wake up Sunday and get back on track.
Sunday I was up with the kiddies nice and early.
Jason tried to sleep in, but honestly, the amount of noise the kids make makes it almost impossible.
I ran down to Coles to get some ingredients because Jason’s birthday week was commencing, and I’d invited a couple of friends over to celebrate Sunday afternoon with cupcakes.
One of them is gluten-free, so I just made all of the cupcakes gluten-free, and no one would even know the difference.
The cupcakes baked while we ran around and got ready for football. It was Rocky’s last game, so we were all going to cheer him on.
It was a great game.

After the game, it was Arlo’s nap time. Jason brought the Harley Davidson out to visit some friends, and I had a late breakfast, trained in the gym and cleaned the house ready for our guests.
We played out in the sun for HOURS! Our friends joined and it was so wholesome! The boys even got some sun on the rigs!

The cupcakes turned out great. Not as pretty as I would have liked though!

I also got gluten-free Oreos. I did drag my friend on a walk while the kids were all enjoying each other’s company.

Now for check-in.
