Week 6 - Surgery, Sydney & Standing Jeans
What a week!!
At first I was thinking, gosh I don’t feel like I have much to say because I didn’t feel like I did a lot. But really, I did!
Monday was a big day for me. My sister and I drove to Sydney and back to see a plastic surgeon.
I want to be open and honest in my blog, so here goes.
I got a breast lift in 2021 and an augmentation in 2022. This was after my two eldest children, and I did it not ever thinking I would be blessed with another child. That’s a whole other story, but he was very planned!
Anywayyyyy, after having a third child, they are just not the same. Unfortunately, my skin has re-stretched and they’re quite heavy. My back hurts a lot and my posture definitely needs improving.
So I went to Sydney to see a surgeon about getting an implant removal, lift and a much smaller implant put back in.
And if you heard me on the support call Monday night, I’ve always had quite fatty upper arms no matter my weight, so I’ve finally opted in for liposuction as well. I did ask about an arm lift for the excess skin, but the scars he showed me helped me decide on lipo for now. He said it’s not a quick fix and you can only do so much without damaging the skin.
Anyway, the appointment went really well and I’m booked in for September. I’m really excited. I look really broad at the top currently and have to buy different sizes to suit that, so this is something I really want.
I also had a 360 tummy tuck in 2021 because my stomach after two babies, two c-sections and 30kg weight loss was not ideal. Lucky for me, when I had Arlo, I had no ab separation and my tummy has gone back to how it was. Phew!
The rain was back again this week, because apparently Canberra has decided we live in a swamp now. So there was no sport training either, which actually meant we got to spend more time together as a family. It was so nice. We ate dinner as a family, worked as a team to get the kids to bed, and Jason and I even watched some of our show, Dutton Ranch.

Wednesday is probably my favourite day. We have our team meeting and it’s always an hour of laughs. It’s so wholesome. Then we had our support call and got to see Keiran in the wizard hat.

I’m so proud of everyone for their adherence last week. Keep it up! It makes us coaches so proud.
A few little fun highlights from the week: Nola had convict day at school and Arlo made play doh. I also tried the FroPro cheeseburger pizza. It was okay. Not life changing, but okay.

That got us through to Friday.
Rookie error as usual, I forgot my lunch. But I got a yummy My Muscle Chef meal and some fruit, so we survived.

And winner, my new black jeans finally fit me! I tried them on just to see how they were going and they were great, so I wore them all day. I did have to change my desk to standing a few times though because they are definitely not sitting jeans yet. Standing jeans only for now.

Friday night we had a night in hanging out! The children don’t use their iPad during the week so they got them and it was a couch cuddling evening! Excuse the TV bracket on the wall, we re arranged the loungeroom and figured it was better than a patch for now!

Saturday morning we all got up early and watched the Socceroos. It was such a tough game, and well done Egypt for winning.

I then packed my suitcase, including my new Lorna Jane haul, because it was time to head to Hyrox to support my friends.

I’m still bummed I wasn’t competing, but I was so excited to feel the atmosphere and motivate myself for the next one. And let’s be honest, I didn’t adhere this weekend, but I was smart.
One of my girlfriends booked our accommodation and when we arrived, we were so confused because the place was in a car yard!!! But don’t judge a book by its cover because it was a beautiful little cozy home.

The girls checked in at Hyrox, then we then went to the pub and I had a nice steak and won $70 on the pokies! I still don’t even know how to set up a pokie machine I had to ask some young man how to make it $1 bets!

Sunday morning the girls raced at 8:30am and did SO WELL. We were there early and ready, and I was their videographer and cheer squad.

The athletes in that place were insane. One way to really motivate yourself is to surround yourself with fitness freaks. Honestly, it made me so excited to get back into it and hopefully do the next one.

They did absolutely amazing, it was a huge accomplishment!!!!
Once it was done, we went to Oporto for lunch, I got a double chicken burger, no sauce no chips.. I tracked my food still all weekend and was pretty close to my adherence!!!!!

All in all, such a great week. Lots of fun, a few big decisions, a few wins, and somehow here we are at week 6 already.
Check-in time.
Week: 6
Nutrition Adherence: 5/7 (one day not enough protein, one day over cals by 200)
Weekly Average Steps: 6,800
Training: 3/5
Average Body Weight Change: -1kg again!! (did not weigh myself Sunday).
The things I’m most proud of this week are:
Navigating my trips away while still making better choices
Being honest with myself about the weekend instead of pretending it was perfect
Getting 4/5 training sessions done even with travel and a busy week
My black jeans fitting, even if they’re currently standing-only jeans
The areas I need to improve next week are:
Hopefully get out more. I know it’s rained, but I love the outdoors and really miss outdoor walks
Steps!!
Change up my meal prep because I am officially over mince, rice and veg after about three weeks
Get straight back into routine after the Sydney weekend
Keep momentum going and not let one off-plan weekend turn into an off-plan week
